Therapy in Ottawa. Provided in-person and via e-therapy (by phone or online) throughout Ontario for individuals 18+
Thank you for being here. According to CAMH, each year 1 in 5 Canadians will experience mental illness and 1 out of 3 Canadians struggle with their mental health. Have you been living with symptoms of trauma, stress, anger, anxiety, and/or depression? Have you been experiencing grief as a result of losing a loved one, a relationship, a pet, a piece of your identity, and/or employment? Do you question the meaning of life and death? Counselling and psychotherapy are talk based approaches that help individuals understand and manage their emotions, thoughts and behaviours, ultimately leading to improved well-being.
“I help people develop a greater capacity to hold their feelings, to let go of what no longer serves them and get back to who they really are. Reconnect with their authentic self!”
Julie Galipeau, MA, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

What a session with me looks like? You will be encouraged to explore your past experiences, thoughts and feelings to understand how they influence your present behaviours, emotional well-being and relationships. The emphasis will be on examining unconscious processes, and identifying recurring patterns in your life. Either standard treatments will be modified or psychological theories will be merged to achieve this.
Deep introspection is a common element of therapy, and it can be painful at times. The objective is to rebuild a stronger sense of self, healthy coping mechanisms, positive thought patterns and healthier relationships.
